Helping people explore and understand their data through intuitive visualisation interfaces requires knowledge development of spatial and cognitive theories and ideas that exploit human perceptual system. Therefore, information visualization combines the knowledge of computer graphics, human computer niteraction, cognitive psychology, semiotics, graphic design, statistical graphics, cartography and art. InfoVis represents the state of the art on the current ideas, methodologies and techniques used within these domains.
