Participants are invited to submit an A1 poster of their work
and to provide demos at their posters during the event.
vizNET 2008 encourages attendees to submit a poster for display in the Sir Dennis Rooke Building during the event. We are very keen for attendees to have the opportunity to fully participate during the event. Whilst some people may prefer to produce a poster of their work we also recognise that some attendees may be more interested in highlighting a problem they are trying to solve and which they would like to share with others. For instance you may have a particularly challenging data set with no immediately obvious means of teasing out important features of the underlying data set properties. By producing a poster of such challenges and sharing these at vizNET 2008 it is highly likely that other people attending the vizNET event will be able to suggest possible ways of solving the problems.
There are a limited number of slots available so we would recommend that you submit an abstract for your poster when registering for the conference to avoid disappointment.
A prize will be awarded for the best poster display (of current work or challenging problem). All attendees will be given the opportunity to vote for the best illustrative poster. vizNET will offering a digital picture frame as the prize.
A poster is not a prerequisite to attend, but it facilitates networking for those interested in collaboration. We hope to include each poster and poster abstract as a CD to be included in the delegate pack. This will allow those interested in collaboration to have a record of what attendants can offer and what they are looking for.
The poster should be based on the vizNET PowerPoint template provided.
vizNET will be pleased to print an A0 copy of each poster for each attendant and display this in the Sir Dennis Rooke Building atrium during the event (you will be able to take your poster away with you after the event).
Once registered, a submission can be made by logging into our conference management system and selecting "Submit Contribution". Please ensure you select poster for type of submission.
